Well as of lately my subwoofer starting making a really wierd noise so i decided to tear it apart today. Here whats making the noise is on the inside of the box the port has a mesh cover over it thats loose. It was glued on but i have no idea what this is even good for. I took it off totally and it sounded even worse. So does any1 know what this "cover" is even for??????

Do you have any pictures? What is the mesh cover over, is it over the end of the port?

Gooday and welcome to the forum.

The mesh is only there to stop rodents from nesting inside the box .

I would say that there is also something else loose inside the box as the removal of the mesh or reglueing couldnt possibly make the 'apparent noise' worse if it is a rattle noise.

We do need more detail of what the 'wierd' noise sounds like , It may be a faulty speaker and you found the mesh loose and you blame the mesh??????? . It may be the amp that is causing it .?????........................................The plot thickens!!!!!!!!!!!! I like a good mystry :bigok: .............Alan
