Receiver Antenna

4 posts in this topic

I got a 1984 Sanyo jt440 Am/Fm receiver, just hooked up to a pa amp and old speakers. I got a Bunny ear antenna, 10ft total 14ga copper wire, and the ground on the receiver goes outside to a old metal airgun barrel sunk about a foot in the ground. Picks up local channels ok at best. I wanted to know what I could do to get better reception. I am only concerned about FM radio. Hooked to the 300 ohm.

You may need to use an fm antenna signal booster to reach out a little further.

So I would haft to cut and strip the input and use the end to splice in the antenna, one wire on the shielding, other on the inner wire, no? 300 or 75 ohm? I have nothing in this so ill ask around and probably get an old one off a friend for free. Free is good.
