Going Old School With Vhs

3 posts in this topic

So here's the deal. I have a number of old skateboarding VHS tapes that have never been released on DVD and I have been having the itch to watch a couple of them. I know the quality is going to be pretty bad compared to what I am used to, but What should I look fror when buying a VCR? I really know nothing about them or what makes them good or bad.

Anyone know anything or should I just find any old used one on craigslist and buy it up?

I too have videos on vhs tapes, home videos of life. I am thinking of buying a combo dvd/vhs recorder. Maybe that is a something you might want to do?

Thought about it but I could save money by buying a used VCR. I have a an xbox and Blu Ray player that play DVDs so there really isn't a need for a combo.

I should just go to my parents house and transfer it on their combo burner. They put all of our home videos on DVD. hmmmm. No need to rewind that way. Haha what an obsolete technology!
