Hi I was hoping someone could guide me along with this, I don't know much about home audio. I would like to put 6 100 watt 8 inch Polk audio speakers in my drop ceiling in my garage and possibly 2 indoor/outdoor speakers on my rear deck run off of one receiver. I have an old stereo receiver and a newer Sony now but both only have outputs for 2 pairs of speakers (4 total) and I am unsure what equipment/changes I will have to make to power 6-8 speakers at one time. Best Buy suggested I look into Magnolia but I'm not sure what to look for exactly. I have seen that you can get 4 channel speaker selectors and it seems like that could work but I'm not sure if either of my current receivers could power that many speakers. I like my music at a good volume in the garage. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

You're probably best off doing a 4 speaker selector like this.

Select the speakers you need, and run with the protection on.
Otherwise you will need at least 4 channels of amplification with 8 ohm speakers and true 4 channels. You shouldn't use the B channels to run anything less that 8 ohms.
You could parallel sets of speakers and drive them with 4 channels. What are your receivers?
