I have an older Pioneer receiver (SX-2300) and would like to connect a music source that will continuously play an mp3 file. The file is running water and nature sounds and would provide some mellow background noise in a busy neighborhood. My question: what piece of equipment should I get (iPod, CD player …) to continuously play this file? Thanks! Bill

Used CD player with a repeat function would do just fine.

I am just confused as what you want to do this for. Are you going to put speakers facing outside with this playing all the time?
