Ok, now that I am sort of settled in the new place, along with 1/2 of the record collection alphabetized, I need to get a new turn table that is passable for the short term future. As in, I have made a point of not spending much of anything while I am here, and will up the quality of things once I buy another house. So, I have looked at a few, but I wanted to get some decent suggestions as I don't want to fix my old ones, and I sure as heck am not allowed to snatch my fathers Pioneer from the late 60's. I really need to keep it quite low on price, but not total junk either.

Wanted to get a few suggestions before I go after a certain model or just sift through ebay. Would prefer to buy new.

I have a Stanton STR8-60 that works well. I just checked and you can find them decently cheap online. Or the Technics 1200 is a popular table. You could pick on of those up used for a good price.

Try craigslist too. I see decent there here and there.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have not used a Stanton before. I have not seen a 1200 for what I can budget for right now.

Folloowing this topic. I have an older Technics turntable at home that I really want to get a new belt/cartridge for.

Still Kicking myself in the ass for selling a Kenwood KD-5070 when I was like 15. Had no interest in vinyl or home audio at the time. I got like 20 bucks for it and all it needed was a cartridge. FUCK.

If it is truly temporary I'd look at a DD table that a DJ may want later on. Just need a nice adjustable tone arm and a reasonable cartridge. I picked up a pair of Technics 1800's for $75 a while back so there are deals to be had, already sold the second one otherwise I'd send it to you.

Free if I bring it with me and give it to you, if not I can get a shipping price when I return.

Also you will need to put a 110v plug on it because it has a unit to unit plug for the Fisher system.
