I have a Pioneer RX-590 home stereo. When the volume is turned up to about half way the stereo cuts out. I have cleaned the inside and the fan still works. Is there any way to stop this from happening (EX: mods, additional amp, extra fan)?

Good day fausta . First of all welcome to the forum .

Have you checked the speakers?, are they the right impedance 8 ohm?
Did it just happen ?, or you changed the speakers around and it happened ?
We need more details to be able to to work it out with you .
We will be looking forward to your reply ......Alan.

Sounds like the receiver is trying to protect itself. Make sure that your receiver isn't seeing to low of a load. If you are using the Speaker A and B at the same time, and a set of speakers is below 8 ohms, it could mess everything up.

We need some more details about your set up.

Pioneer units are very picky about impedance levels. As stated they are 8 ohm units, but in most cases they also offer a 6 ohm switch to allow for somewhat overzealous speakers. One of my favorite sets I build get a tad overzealous and they drop to 7 ohms at near reference, so I have had to adjust many a Pioneer Elite to handle the increased load. On the older Pioneer units there is a switch on the rear of the unit to allow for 6 ohm speaker switching. Some of the newer units force you to go into the onscreen menu to switch to the 6 ohm option. Factory settings, of course, are at the 8 ohm level. I suggest switching it to the 6 ohm option and see how she does. But odds are that you have 4 ohm units, and it will still cut out before you reach reference (+0db). Even if this is the case, by switching to 6 ohm you will get better output before overload protection sets in.

Home System: Pioneer Elite VSX45TX, DV45A, BDP-23FD. Samsung Series 5 Plasma. Custom mains in a 7.1 format. Harmony One remote. PS3 gaming. Monster Circuit Protection.

I have a Pioneer RX 590 with two rear, one center, and two cabinets with one wolfer, one small and medium size in each cabinet.
A long time ago the phono input lost the ability to support the cabinets and gives off no sound at all
then the cd input stopped supporting the cabinets but plays rear and center same as the video input
all the cabinets are hooked up to the (A) portion of the left right outputs ( B ) output does not work either
also the multi room in remote receiver does not work ( remote is fine )
any way i can get these problems fixed
