I converted all my cds to flac files. how can i play them without having to connect my pc to my home stereo receiver ( have an old but good NAD receiver). Is there any device that can act as both sound card and storage for the files that can connect to the receiver via regular audio plugs and maintain high sound card quality (at least similar quality to a cd player) AND will have lcd display for showing folders and songs? Thanks, Tal

I have my receiver sitting on the top shelf of my entertainment stand (it's a short, small stand). I want to somehow place my center channel above my receiver. I would simply sit it on top but I don't want to block the vents on top of the receiver plus id like to get it up a little closer to ear level. Even a few inches would be good. (5-8inch boost preferred) I saw this and thought this might be something that would work.... I need to buy a receiver for what, in the age of 5.1 and 7.1 receivers, seems to be a special setup. I need the ability to push two Technic home speakers with 12" woofers along with two Infinity home speakers with 15" woofers purely for music, no surround needed. My current receiver does fine on "A" and also on "B" but cuts out frequently when using "A + B". I have been looking at the following receivers: 1. Onkyo TX-8255 - http://www.amazon.co...ywords=onkyo+tx 2. Onkyo TX - 8050 - http://www.amazon.co...ywords=onkyo+tx 3. Teac AG 790A - http://www.amazon.co...ds=Teac+AG+790A Would any of these effectively push my speakers effectively? Any other affordable receiver suggestions would also be appreciated. All speakers 8 ohm in case that is important.

Hello I have a pre-out section on my receiver and I am trying to hook up some powered studio monitors My question is how do I hook up an RCA to TRA cable to my pre out when there is only one available input for RCA. Meaning that normally per channel you have a left and a right input, the pre out section only has one available input for front/surround/subwoofer/ext Am I only supposed to connect one side? A bit confused I am....

I am renting a house. It has two ads bookshelf speakers in the great room (i know, not ideal, but they should be ok). I own a Pioneer Pro Plasma display (no speakers). I'd like to be able to hook the speakers up and use them for my tv audio, dvd audio, and stream music from my mac (itunes, spotify, etc.). I don't really have any need right now for surround sound, but would appreciate some pointers. I'm looking for the least expensive but reasonable solution since I don't own the house, just need something functional now. Don't feel like dropping 600 or so on a receiver, which the guys at best buy of course want me to do. Thoughts? Thanks.
