  1. Nevermind I found this. http://www.amazon.com/DROK-TDA2030A-Digital-Amplifier-Channel/dp/B00D2QRM0A/ref=sr_1_15?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1374355294&sr=1-15&keywords=TDA2030A
  2. I wanted to buy two of these, http://www.ebay.com/itm/TDA2030A-Audio-Power-Amplifier-DIY-Kit-Components-OCL-18W-x-2-BTL-36W-/390607533597?pt=US_Home_Audio_Amplifiers_Preamps&hash=item5af205f61d And run them in BTL, one for left channel one for right. Pretty much making a homemade receiver. Will be building a case for them and such. I wanted to know if I could use 1 volume pot, and run two sets of 6 wires to each board. The question is will It work, or do I need a 4 gang pot, or just bypass them and control the input.
  3. None of the caps are burst, all of them look ok. Im going to contact cleaner and clean all the switches and if that dont fix it I will most likley re-cap it.
  4. $10 at a garage sale. Lafayette LR-3030A stereo receiver. Came with owners manual and original receipts. Bought in December 16, 1978 for $334.37. 4x40w hifi output. The left channel in stereo mode breaks up and is weak. Same in mode A, A+B, and B. When flipped to mono, it works fine. Aux and radio do this, havent tried the rest. For about an hour when I got it the left channel was fine. Anybody know a cause? Havent found anything on this issue.
  5. So I would haft to cut and strip the input and use the end to splice in the antenna, one wire on the shielding, other on the inner wire, no? 300 or 75 ohm? I have nothing in this so ill ask around and probably get an old one off a friend for free. Free is good.
  6. I got a 1984 Sanyo jt440 Am/Fm receiver, just hooked up to a pa amp and old speakers. I got a Bunny ear antenna, 10ft total 14ga copper wire, and the ground on the receiver goes outside to a old metal airgun barrel sunk about a foot in the ground. Picks up local channels ok at best. I wanted to know what I could do to get better reception. I am only concerned about FM radio. Hooked to the 300 ohm.
  7. Rca interconnect to amp, find an old computer power supply. You can google how to convert one, but use the Cpu 4 pin power for the amp (use both strands for double thickness), wire the REM to the 12v positive coming from the supply. Adjust the gain to balance to subwoofer to the rest.
  8. Well I just got an amplifier for $5. An old school Alpine 3552 2/3/4 channel amp. Specs, Alpine 3552 4/3/2 Channel Power amplifier Features: * Multimode * 4/3/2 Channel Operation * Duo-B Feedback Circuitry * No Current Limiting * Active Dividing network * Status Monitor * S.T.A.R. Ciruitry * Input Mode Selector: Stereo, L (Mono), L+R (Summed) * DC to DC Switching Mode Power Supply * Gold-Plated Connectors * Fully Discrete, Complimentary Circuitry * Fixed and Variable Input Sensitivity Switch * Continuously Adjustable Input Gain Control * Remote Power On/Off (with indicator) Specs: * 4 Channel Mode: 30 Watts x 4 into 4 ohms w/ 0.08% THD * 40 Watts x 4 into 2 ohms w/ 0.8% THD * 3 Channel Mode: 30 Watts x 2 into 4 ohms w/ 0.08% THD * 40 Watts x 2 into 2 ohms w/ 0.8% THD * 85 Watts x 1 into 4 ohms w/ 0.8% THD * 2 Channel Mode: 85 Watts x 2 into 4 ohms w/ 0.8% THD * Frequency Response ~ 10 Hz to 50 kHz * Signal/Noise Ratio: ~ 105 dBA * Slew Factor ~ Greater than 5 * Input Sensitivity: Variable - 100 mV to 2.0 V * Fixed - 500 mV * Input Impedance ~ 10 kW * Speaker Impedance ~ 4W or 2W (Stereo), 4W (Bridged) * Dimensions ~ Width: 10-5/8" * Height: 2-1/8" * Depth: 10-5/16" I have it running of a mod computer power supply. I Want to run the daton bookshelf speakers above on channel 1/2. Then this, http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=295-484 Off channel 3/4 bridged. I can adjust the gains to level it right. I was just wondering what Kind of box to make. Downfire, ports, material, ect. And I got this amp for $5, so thats why Im ditching the little one.
  9. Found these, Will they be decent with the amp combo? http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=300-652
  10. Hello, Im new to this forum. I want to have a basic stereo setup for my living room. It will be hooked up to my spare computer (500gig HDD) I am downloading discographies in FLAC format (Free Lossless Audio Codec), and playing them with WinAmp. I listen to Rock, Classic rock, Metal, Country, and subdivisions, ect. Right now I have a Radio Shack PA 35w amp, and 2 3w RCA bookshelf speakers (Complete Garbage, but free). I was thinking of buying this amp, http://www.amazon.co...59761866&sr=1-1 20w RMS per channel, Hifi. I wanted options on the amp, suggestions on bookshelf or tower speakers, or something completely different. I dont mind building boxes, I got a miter saw, table saw, drill press, and access to a Dato. I would like to spend under $125 on this thing. Thanks!
