  3. Amplifier cutout done
  4. woofer enclosure:
  5. Thats the plan, of course Aaron may tweak with the crossover settings once he has had the time to listen for awhile.
  6. Everything looked great when I modeled each enclosure. Those Aura's are really impressive for such low cost. The only real issue is power handling for the Aura's under 100hz but they are rated for 20wrms each and four of them will be only recieving 35wrms.
  7. Aaron approached me about building a budget 2.1 setup for watching movies on his laptop. We came to the agreement to build two small towers which will have four 3" full range speakers per side arranged in a line array. Each tower will be roughly.5 cubic feet sealed after displacements. A SoundSplinter Orphan 8 will be used for subwoofer duty. The woofer enclosure is .65 cubic feet after displacements, which is rather large for the orphan but very low power is being used. 8. Thank you, budget does include receiver but as stated the budget can stretch. I'll have to find them Sean. This room needs to be fairly simple. The wife won't let it get out of hand, she said go crazy with the HT room. For the receiver, I dont really know? Something that is able to fit my speakers needs? I am not a fan of the surround sound, I would like to keep all the speakers in front of me. The small amount of testing I have done with the MJ18, 100wrms is going to be plenty for the room. I am going to buy a plate amplifier that I can install in the enclosure.
  9. I already have a MJ-18 that I will be using for subwoofer duty. The $1000 does include reciever but my budget can stretch if I need it to. What towers would you recommend?
  10. Thanks for the help guys. Neal, your paradigm speakers look very nice. Just a little bit more than what I want to spend for this room . I was looking at the overnight sensation build on parts express. I probably would want to do a left, right, and center channel for a nice 3.1 setup http://www.diysoundg...-flat-pack.html thoughts?
